Green Box and Blue Bag Collection Scheme

Skip main content Skip main content
All households in Richmondshire have a kerbside collection service using both a green box for the collection of glass bottles, glass jars, food cans, drinks cans and plastic bottles, and a blue bag for the collection of newspapers and magazines.

What is this service?
A separate collection of glass, cans, plastic bottles and paper from your home for recycling every fortnight.

Where should I put my box and sack?
Please put your box and sack out at the kerbside, before 7.30am on your scheduled collection day.

What happens on Bank Holidays?
As for your normal refuse collection, if there is a Monday Bank Holiday in the week, all collections will be made a day later than normal and you should put your box and bag out accordingly. Collections will return to normal the following week. Collections for Good Friday take place as normal.  You will be advised of Christmas collections nearer to the time.
