Officers from Hambleton and Richmondshire District Councils
ditched their suits and ties to dress down and raise cash for the
Haiti disaster appeal.
A massive £523 has been donated to the emergency appeal after a
day of fund raising events – cakes were sold, quizzes held and
staff dressed down for the day.
And the fund raising hasn't stopped there – a quiz organised by
Joint Chief Executive Peter Simpson, is still underway.
"Everyone has been moved by the scenes we have witnessed in
Haiti – they really dug deep to raise this cash," said Peter
Simpson.
"We regularly hold charity dress down days but this is the most
money we have ever raised through one."
