Richmondshire Local Sports Association
At it's AGM meeting on the 24 November 2010 it was agreed to
re-name the organisation as, Richmondshire Local
Sports Association.
Richmondshire Local Sports Association is made up of
local people who all give there time voluntarily, including Local
Councillors, Parish Councillors, School Teachers and
Members/Representatives of local sports clubs. Regular meetings are
held to discuss the current issues facing local sports clubs and
organisations.
There are also a number of
organisations affiliated to the Sports Association. The minimum fee
to affiliate in 2010/11 is £5.00. For further information on

Thank you to all who affiliated in
2009/10 enabling the Sports Council to give £1,500 in grants to
young people to assist with the costs in their training and also,
to cover some of the costs incurred in running the Annual Junior
Sports Awards Presentation of 2010. It is hoped this year to
continue supporting as many young people of Richmondshire as
possible.

Junior Sports Awards 2011
The Local Sports Association also took the initiative to set
up and organise the Junior Sports Awards event in 1998, awarding
numerous local young people for their contribution to sport and the
recognition brought to Richmondshire through sport.
Due to the success of the event, the
Local Sports Association have continued to organise this event
annually.
The 2011 Awards presentation took
place on Wednesday 6 July 2011 at Wensleydale School,
Leyburn.
