Grants and assistance for privately owned homes
We offer Disabled Facilities Grants. A
grant to adapt a disabled client's home. It must be supported by a
recommendation from an Occupational Therapist.
We do not currently offer any grants which will help you carry
out essential repairs, renovating or improving your homes, such as
Property Enhancement Grants. We are waiting for the results of the
Private Sector House Condition
Survey which will inform our future policy on
what assistance we will give.
We do, however, work closely with Vale and Dale Home
Improvement Agency, who can assist you if you
meet any of the following criteria:
- You are over 60 years of age, or
- You are on a low income, or
- You are disabled or infirm, or
- You feel you are otherwise vulnerable.
As part of their service, they may be able to give you
guidance and information on any of the following, for which there
may be a charge, depending upon your circumstances:
- Applying for grant
- Helping to find additional funding for work
- Helping find suitable and reliable builders
- Obtaining competitive quotes
- Obtaining Local Authority planning consents or building regulations approvals
- Home Energy Efficiency Scheme
- Handyperson Scheme
- Home Security Service
- Home Safety Service
- Minor Adaptations Service
