Housing repairs and maintenance
The Maintenance department
is responsible for carrying out repairs to our residents homes. The
repairs service manages the inspection and ordering of repairs to
around 1,500 homes. The majority of maintenance and repair work is
carried out by the Council’s own employees.
We have a dedicated team of
people who are responsible for maintaining residents homes
including plumbers, joiners, electricians and bricklayers.
Although most repair
requests are received within working hours we also operate an out
of hours service to deal with genuine emergencies that may arise at
any time of the day or night every day of the year. The out of
