How to pay your rent

Skip main content Skip main content

There are several ways you can pay your rent.

Your rent is due fortnightly on a Monday, but you can arrange to pay either weekly, fortnightly or monthly via Standing Order.

There are two weeks of each year where no rent is charged. These are the two weeks over the Christmas period. However, if you have rent arrears, you must still pay during this period.

Telephone Payments
You can make payments over the telephone by calling 0845 0781191 Please remember to have your payment card details and rent account number ready.

Standing Order
You can download a Standing Order Form or contact a member of the Estate Manangement team for a copy. You need to complete the form and take it to your bank so they can arrange payments. If your rent changes, it is your responsibility to make sure you tell your bank so they can change your details. You must also make sure you tell your Estate Manager if you choose to make your payments this way.

Cheque
Please make cheques payable to Richmondshire District Council and clearly write your rent account number on the back of your cheque.

Cash
We accept cash payments at any of our Community Offices. Please remember not to send cash in by post.

If you require any further information about paying your rent, please contact the Estate Management Team on 01748 827190 or 827192
