Delivering Services
- Our main areas of work are:-
Environmental
Protection
including environmental pollution and nuisance related problems,
private sector housing, noise and contaminated land.
Commercial Health including pest control,
regulation of food safety, health and safety at work, cemeteries
and private water supplies.
- We also issue Licences under various legislation, including
licences for sale of alcohol and hackney carriages and private hire
vehicles.
- A major portion of our work is based on routine inspections
where legislation and guidance determines the frequency of
inspection.
- In addition, we respond to requests for a large range of
services. The response times we aim to achieve for these requests
are as follows:-
- As a matter of priority and in any event by the end of the next
working day
- As soon as possible and in any event within 2 complete working
days
In addition to the target times specified above we aim to respond
to all other requests for service promptly and in any event within
10 complete working days.

We are able to offer free confidential advice, please contact us by
letter, telephone, e-mail or by making an appointment through our
Community Offices at any time during normal office hours.
Monday to Thursday 8.45 am to 5.15pm
Friday 8.45 to 4.45 pm
