The Richmondshire Lifestyle

Richmondshire can offer you and your workforce a living and working environment with a 'Quality of Life' second to none.

Richmondshire has a beautiful, healthy environment with good schools, a superb range of housing at modest prices, first rate health facilities and local services and amenities of first class standard.

Richmondshire is indeed 'James Herriot Country', providing the backdrop for the TV series, and while the District is a great attraction to the tourist, it is a splendid place where people enjoy living and working.

Indeed, should you or your workforce miss the congestion of the city centre or the monotony of suburbia, Richmondshire's excellent road network means that you can be in Newcastle, Leeds or Middlesbrough within one hour of leaving the District.

Richmondshire's inherent advantages gave it the highest quality of life index score for all the Districts in the North of England.

Communications

ROAD
The A1 Dual Carriageway/Motorway, in close proximity to the Industrial Estates at Colburn and Richmond, provides a direct link with the country's main motorway network. Conveniently situated midway between Tyneside and West Yorkshire, a potential of 4.5 million consumers exists within a 50 mile radius. The renowned communications crossroads of Scotch Corner is approximately 5 miles North of Richmond, so both estates are well placed to act as a central location for Anglo/Scottish distribution.

RAIL
Easy access is available to main line railway services at both Darlington and Northallerton, both some 15 miles distance from Richmond. The fastest trains from London reach Darlington in 2 hours and 30 minutes. Garsdale Station, 4 miles from Hawes on the Leeds/Settle/Carlisle line is an important link for the rural west.

AIR
Durham Tees Valley International Airport has an expanding range of domestic and international scheduled destinations and is situated just 19 miles form Richmond. Air cargo facilities are available at Durham Tees Valley International Airport and several freight forwarders are based there.
Larger regional airports are easily reached at Leeds/Bradford, Newcastle and Manchester.

SEA
Both Walkerville and Gallowfields trading estates are strategically placed to take advantage of the excellent deep water port facilities at Teesport. This port can offer a full range of import/export shipping services including RO/RO and container services to and from locations world-wide.
