Let Us Know What You Think

We are always interested to hear your suggestions and feedback about the Richmondshire community that you live and work in. We can only improve things if you let us know what the problems are, so make sure you have your say.

Every year the Council undertakes consultation on all sorts of issues. These are time limited consultation activities so the 'Have Your Say' facility allows you to voice your opinions and suggestions at any time.

Viewfinder Panel

The Viewfinder Panel was disbanded in December 2011. Its purpose was to provide a representative view on the Council's consultations through the five themed Place Surveys:

  • Green Living
  • Healthy Lives
  • Prosperous Communities
  • Strong Neighbourhoods
  • Safe Places.

The Panel consisted of approximately 500 members of the community who lived and/or worked in Richmondshire. Following the decision taken to disband the Panel, members were contacted and forwarded details of an alternative panel in North Yorkshire, the Citizens' Panel, which they could apply to be a member, should they wish.

The Citizens' Panel, operated by North Yorkshire County Council, welcomes anyone with a view on their district within North Yorkshire to join and represent their area on many consultation topics. Should you be interested in joining this panel, please visit the NYCC website where you can find further details.

Service Standards

Telephone Calls

We try to answer all telephone calls within ten seconds. At busy times this is not always possible. You can help the Council to achieve this target and reduce your waiting time by knowing which service you require when you speak to the telephonist.

Letters, correspondence and e-mails

We try to reply to all letters, correspondence and e-mails fully within seven working days. If this is not possible then we try to send an acknowledgement within three working days and respond fully within fourteen working days.

If you are not satisfied with a service you have received from Richmondshire District Council you should complain in the first instance to the unit providing the Services. You can complain by phone, in person, by letter, by e-mail or by fax.

Once your complaint has been received you should receive a full response within seven days or if this is not possible we will send you an acknowledgement letter detailing when you can expect a full response.

For more details please also see the Council's complaints procedure
