Local Development Scheme

The Local Development Scheme (LDS) sets out a timetable for the preparation of the Local Development Framework (LDF).

The Council approved a revised LDS, which recommends that we prepare:

  • The Core Strategy.
  • An Area Action Plan for Colburn, Scotton and Hipswell, including Catterick Garrison.
  • A Facilitiating Devlopment Document
Additional Supplementary Planning Documents (SPDs) are not proposed at this stage.

LDF Core Strategy Timetable

This timetable summarises the major remaining milestones to adoption of the LDF Core Strategy.  It is ambitious and is dependent on the delivery of a number of important evidence base tasks, including traffic modelling and housing viability work to ensure that the Council’s approach is sound.  The Council is alert to the changing legislative context and expect to review this programme in the light of changes brought forward under the Localism Bill and other proposals.
