Local Development Framework
Overview
The Local Development Framework (LDF) will help shape the future
development of Richmondshire outside of the National Park.
LDF's were introduced by the 2004 Planning and Compulsory Purchase
Act and will replace existing
local plans, which will remain in force until
LDF documents are approved and adopted by the Council.
The LDF will be a set of individual policy and advisory
documents. This is designed to make development plans
adaptable to changing circumstances. When completed
Richmondshire's LDF will comprise the following parts, listed
below. At the moment we are working on the Core Strategy:
The Core Strategy: will set out the overarching spatial vision and
objectives for the LDF and is the document we are currently working
on.
The Facilitating Development document will provide the
detailed policies relevant to individual sites and support the Core
Policies in the Core Strategy.
Supporting Information : the
studies and assessments carried out to inform emerging LDF policies
and key strategic documents supported by the LDF.
