The Local Land Charges service is headed by the Local Land
Charges Officer assisted by the Planning Technicians when
necessary. The greater part of the work is managing and responding
to official searches of the Register. Solicitors on behalf of their
client, the property purchaser, usually submit these. The register
is a statutory register and is open to inspection, by the public,
personal searchers, upon payment of the statutory fee. It is a
requirement of the authority to keep the register of Local Land
Charges up to date.
