The Council's Development Management Service is
responsible for dealing with planning applications and
other associated applications (Listed Building Consent,
advertisement consent etc) submitted to the Council under the
Planning Acts for that part of the District outside of the
Yorkshire Dales National Park.
The Development Management Section is also responsible
for the administration and management of matters relating to trees
covered by Tree Preservation Orders and trees in Conservation
Areas.

We encourage the community to comment on current applications
so that views can be taken into consideration when the application
is determined. We especially encourage you to comment on an
application by e-mail (see details below). The process by
which applications are dealt with is explained elsewhere on
thi sweb site by following this linl
How Your Application Will Be Dealt
With. The way in which the community can best be
involved in the development control process is also set out in
Section 4 (page 19) of our
Statement of Community
Involvement. This also explains how we will give
publicity to planning applications, particularly in the way that
neighbours will be notified and consulted when an application has
been made. It further explains how the general public and
others can make comments on applications and the way in which such
comments will be considered.
Please see our Public Access for Planning
page for lists of applications received and
determined.
If you wish to make comments on any current
application that has not yet been determined, please use the
facility available through our Planning for Public Access
page.
We look forward to receiving your
views.
