Planning

Planning Policy work is done by the Policy Team within the Council's Customer Service.

The Development Management Team is responsible for the Council's principal functions in regulating the development of the District as well as Conservation and Regeneration.

Please take time to view our Planning Guide which has been produced jointly with Hambleton District Council as part of our Shared Services arrangements.  The Guide can be found at  www.planningguide.co.uk/hambletonandrichmondshire and in it you can find information about the planning system works at the local level as well as guidance on how you can get involved.

Please note – The Yorkshire Dales National Park Authority is responsible for planning in the National Park.
