Hambleton Area Partnerships

                          Hambleton Area Partnerships

Area Partnerships in Hambleton seek to represent the public, private, voluntary and community sectors working or living in their area and are focused around each of the five market towns and their surrounding villages, as detailed in the map below:

Established in 2002 each Area Partnership within the Hambleton & Richmondshire Strategic Forum has produced and monitors its own Community Plan which reflect local need and aspiration. Each plan has fed into the Hambleton Sustainable Community Strategy to ensure that local issues have been considered.
The purpose of the Area Partnership’s Community Plans are to:

  • allow local communities to articulate their aspirations, needs and priorities
  • co-ordinate and influence the actions of the District Council, and of the public, voluntary and community and private sector organisations that operate locally so that they effectively meet community needs and aspirations
  • unlock a variety of grants that are available to improve existing services or establish new projects
  • contribute to the achievement of sustainable development both locally and more widely, with local goals and priorities relating, where appropriate, to regional and national aims.

Each group is keen to keep everyone informed of their progress and will continue to publicise key stages of their development.

Membership is open to residents of the market towns and the surrounding villages and attendance at meetings of the Partnerships is welcome.

We hope by doing this, we find residents will become more involved in decisions which affect them, as well as having a better understanding of what the area’s priorities are and how to help deal with them. Each area also has its own detailed evidence based profile, building a picture of the place and the people who live and work there.

This approach will provide an opportunity to discuss local concerns and issues, and will be one of the main ways in which we engage with our communities. We hope we can get district councillors, parish councillors, members of the public and representatives of community groups, local businesses, partners and other agencies involved.
