A review of transport information
available in Richmondshire is underway.
Residents and visitors are being asked how
they access timetables for buses, trains, car sharing and community
transport schemes.
Richmondshire District Council has joined
forces with North Yorkshire County Council to conduct a survey over
the next two months.
Historically satisfaction surveys have shown
that residents of Richmondshire are often the least happy with
public transport information, compared to the other districts in
North Yorkshire. The survey aims to find out where
improvements can be made as well as giving people the opportunity
put forward their own ideas and experiences.
The survey asks how easy it is to find
transport information – and where residents get it from – and asks
for travel experiences around the district, good and bad.
The survey can be carried out on-line at
Richmondshire.gov.uk. Alternatively copies of the
survey are available in libraries, council offices, community
centres and village halls. It is also going to be delivered to
homes in selected areas by supervised workers through the Community
Payback scheme.
Completed surveys - which can be returned by
freepost – must be with the councils by January 31,2012.
