Dozens of copies were sold at a double book-signing session in Richmond's Tourist Information Centre (TIC).
Richmondshire District Council, which runs the TIC, invited local authors Mike Wood and John Culpan to sign their books – respectively, The Friary, written to coincide with the 750th anniversary of the Franciscan Friary; and The Life and Work of George Townsend Andrews, about the Victorian architect who designed Richmond Station and Richmond Bridge.
The two authors were there for an hour, and jointly sold more than 50 copies in total.
TIC Manager Tina Coates said: "Everyone had a really good time, and it just goes to show how many local history enthusiasts we have in Richmond!"
