Trials of street recycling bins are
underway in Bedale, Colburn and Richmond.

Shoppers are being urged to use the bins for
cans, bottles, plastic bottles and paper.
Hambleton and Richmondshire District Council
is piloting use of the bins in two locations in Bedale – outside
the Co-op and Spar shops in the Market Place – and in Colburn in
the Broadway and at the Falls Car Park.
The bins will be trialled for six months and
depending on their success – and the increase in recycling rates
from them may be rolled out to other towns across the two
districts.
