SPORTIVATE FUNDING OPEN FOR OFFERS!
A funding programme which aims to encourage young people to
take part in sport has opened its doors for funding bids.
The Sportivate programme run by North
Yorkshire Sport on behalf of Sport England backed by £135 million
of National Lottery funding is accepting applications from clubs,
schools, colleges and other organisations.
It wants to see 300,000 young people between
the ages of 14 and 25 take part in a six week programme of physical
activity. It is then hoped that these same young people -
inspired by the power of sport and London 2012 - will continue
taking part in either the same or a different sport.
Applications can be made through North
Yorkshire Sport’s website http://www.northyorkshiresport.co.uk/.
Advice - or help with the completion of an application - can be
obtained through Hambleton and Richmondshire District Councils
Active4 Life Officer, Lesley Williams on lesley.williams@hambleton.gov.uk
or 01609 767242.
