Customer service provided by Hambleton and
Richmondshire district council’s has been give a five star
rating.
Frontline services were gauged as part of last
months ‘customer services week’ – 95% of customers using
Hambleton’s telephone service said it was good while 88% were
satisfied with Richmondshire’s face to face service.
During the week residents, councillors and
staff across both councils were able to take ‘Behind the Scenes’
Tours of the Customer Services Units. The campaign recognises
the importance of customer service and the people who work on the
front line serving and supporting customers.
Senior Officers also stepped behind the
counter to man the reception desks in ‘Back to the Floor’ exercises
at the Civic Centre in Northallerton and Richmond’s Community
Office to see what happens in the world of face to face customer
service.
Members of the public were also asked to
nominate staff who had gone the extra mile for. Customer Service
Excellence Awards were made to Hambleton’s Linda Doughty
(Licensing) and Kelly Alexander (Customer Services) and
Richmondshire’s Denise Cowey, Hilary Gould and Shelagh Barker
(Customer Services). They each received a Certificate of
Recognition.
