Hambleton and Richmondshire residents
are being urged to recycle their cardboard.
All village mini recycling centres in
Hambleton – more than 100 of them placed in pub car parks,
recreation areas and at village halls – accept cardboard in the
paper banks. The larger town sites do not take card – but
will accept plastics, cartons and textiles.
In Richmondshire all recycling centres – in
village sites and the market towns – take cardboard.
There are also cardboard recycling bins at
household waste centres operated by North Yorkshire County
Council.
However it cannot be placed in the blue bags
used for the kerbside collection of paper across both districts as
it is too bulky to collect.
A full list of all the Hambleton and
Richmondshire recycling sites can be found on hambleton.gov.uk and
richmondshire.gov.uk – follow the recycling links.
- Shoppers can now recycle thin plastic packaging thanks to an
agreement between supermarkets and the On Pack Recycling Label
scheme. Clean plastic film, such as bread bags and cereal liners,
are accepted at the 4,500 supermarkets across the country that
currently have carrier bag banks.
