Richmondshire voters are being urged to have their say on the location of the districts 57 polling stations.

As part of a district wide review of the facilities the District Council is looking to local people for comments on the current locations.  And officers are open to suggestions for other possible venues.

The authority is looking at all polling places, polling districts and polling stations to make sure that all electors have reasonable and practical facilities for voting - and they are all fully accessible where possible, including to the disabled.

It is being conducted in accordance with the Review of Polling Districts and Polling Places (Parliamentary Elections) Regulations 2006.

Details of the current arrangements and the Returning Officer’s proposals are available for inspection at http://www.richmondshire.gov.uk/ and at the Council’s Community Offices in Richmond, Reeth, Hawes, Leyburn.

Comments  can be sent to The Electoral Registration Officer, Richmondshire District Council, Swale House, Frenchgate, Richmond, DL10 4JE; or to  electoral@richmondshire.gov.uk

All comments must be received by October 7.
