Hambleton and Richmondshire’s pest
control service is being relaunched in the New Year - giving
customers the freedom to choose the level of service they require
for the first time.
They will be able to opt to pay for a gold,
silver or bronze service – with the speed of response reflected in
the charge.
At the top end a gold service at £65 would
provide next day coverage, silver a five day turnaround for £45
which includes three visits from a pest control officer, and the
£35 bronze simply an advisory visit. Concessions will only be
available for people in receipt of council tax benefit.
The service – which has been operating as a
shared service between the two authorities for nine months – can
deal with rat, mice, wasp, ant, flea, bed bug, moth, beetle,
cluster fly and cockroach infestations in both domestic and
commercial properties.
“As part of the shared service programme we
have been able to look at pest control and the way we provide the
service,” said Environmental Health Manager, Philip Mepham.
“This new arrangement allows customers the
flexibility to choose the level of service they want – and still
allows us to offer advice to them.”
- A recent survey of the pest control service
found 96% of customers were happy with the service and found advice
useful.
