PACKED WALK PROGRAMME
A packed programme of walks across Richmondshire has been
lined up for the next month.
The March programme of the Richmond and Swale
‘Walking for Health’ scheme sees guided walks setting off from
Richmond and Catterick.
The ‘Walking for Health’ scheme already has 20
members signed up for the weekly free walks – both for beginners
and the more experienced. They are aimed at
people who need exercise to improve their health, recover from
illness, loose weight or to help prevent illness. They
are steady strolls on easy terrain and give people a chance to
enjoy the countryside and make new friends while improving their
health.
The scheme is part of a national organisation
organised by Natural England. Locally it is run by the Richmond
Swale Valley Community Initiative with funding from Comic Relief
and the Richmondshire Local Strategic Partnership.
All walks set off at 10.15am and last around
45 minutes except those on March 15, 22 and 29 which are for
intermediate grade walkers and last around 90 minutes. They
