Richmondshire District Council is in
no overall control today after no party took a majority at
yesterday’s elections.
In a closely fought contest a new team of 34
councillors was elected yesterday on May 5. More than
46% of the electorate turned out to cast their vote in the local
elections.
The political make up of the council is
now:
Independents 16
Conservatives 14
Liberal Democrats 4
