2012 will bring in new sporting
facilities in Wensleydale.
From January people living in and around the
Dale will be able to use the new floodlit pitch being built at
Wensleydale School in Leyburn.
The £100,000 Sports pitch – being part funded
by Richmondshire District Council - will be available to hire by
local groups. During term time it will be open to them from 5
– 9pm and at weekends from 9am until 4pm.
The opening hours are extended to all day
during school holidays.
Headteacher, Phil Benaiges, said:” This
excellent new facility will bring a whole new dimension to the
provision of sports facilities within our Dale. It is a
genuine community facility, managed by a steering group that
includes local sports groups and RDC representatives.
“It will be available for hire from January
onwards and we are determined to make sure that charges are kept to
an absolute minimum, so that it can be used by as many members of
our community as possible.”
Details of the charges, operating times and
booking process will be available from December 20 on the school
website – http://www.wensleydale.n-yorks.sch.uk/
, in local publications and via various flyers and brochures.
