Issued January 17, 2012
Villagers in a small Richmondshire
community are being urged to have their say on a proposal to bring
new life to a former church.
The scheme will see the Good Shepherd Church
in Carlton in Coverdale converted into four new affordable
homes.
Richmondshire District Council housing
officers are asking local people to tell them what they think of
the plans – including use of the church, the design and type of
housing proposed.
A consultation evening is being held at The
Foresters Arms in the village next Tuesday - January 24 – from 6 to
9pm.
The proposed scheme is part of the District
Council’s commitment to provide local homes for local people to
allow them to remain living and working in the area they were
raised.
