Initial steps to create a new sports club in
Richmond will be taken next month.
An open meeting to gauge interest in a
triathlon club for the town will be held on November 8.
Funding for a club has already been approved -
£8,218 has been allocated from the Sports England Small Grants
fund.
“This funding aspires to add yet another
unique club to the wide spectrum of sports already on offer within
Richmondshire,” said Matt Prosser, Sports Development
Co-ordinator for Richmondshire Leisure Trust.
“It is part of our push to increase the
amount of physical activity available to people of all
ages. We hope the open meeting will bring together
people interested in getting involved in this club – whether to
take part in the sport or behind the scenes.”
The meeting takes place at 7pm at Richmond
Swimming Pool – it will last around an hour and be followed by a
triathlon specific swimming session led by the Dales Swimming
Club’s Head Coach, Ryan Livingstone.
