A new grant scheme to help new and
existing business across Richmondshire was launched this
week.
It is hoped that the Richmondshire Business
Support Grant will boost the vitality of the area’s market towns
and rural communities.
Launched on September 13 the scheme will allow
up to 50% of the total project costs to be awarded – up to a
maximum of £5000.
Grants will be available to help business
development and will support projects that generate increased
business turnover, competitiveness and job creation in the
district.
"This new scheme will allow our local economy
to grow, prosper and diversify,” said Councillor Jimmy
Wilson-Petch, spokesperson on prosperous communities.
“They will help our businesses to survive long
term and to be able to adapt to local, national and international
economic opportunities.”
Applications can be made for help towards:
adaptation of buildings for business use; consultancy support for
tangible business improvement outcomes; assistance towards the
purchase of ICT equipment - hardware or software; and initial
