Issued December 21, 2012
2012 sees the launch of a brand new
advice service for Hambleton and Richmondshire residents with
financial problems.
Free, confidential help on debt, benefit and
housing issues will be available through the advice line which
opens for business on January 10.
The service - to be run by Keyhouse, a
registered charity based in Thirsk – is funded by Richmondshire and
Hambleton District councils.
“Money problems are a very common cause of
people loosing their homes,” said Paul Eccles, Benefits Case Worker
of Keyhouse.
“This service will work closely with residents
in the area to solve debt problems and make sure people get the
benefits they are entitled to. Money and housing problems are
common nowadays and there is no shame in getting advice. It’s never
too soon or too late to get help so we urge people to give us a
call.”
The service will be available to residents and
organisations in the two districts by calling 01845 521458 any
Monday, Wednesday and Friday from 10am – 1pm and 2-5pm.
Keyhouse can then arrange to see residents at
a variety of convenient locations across the districts - and in
some cases will make home visits.
