Council homes in Richmondshire have benefitted from
further improvements.
Over £200,000 has been spent on replacing
windows and doors in 120 council houses, bungalows and flats across
the district.
The work is part of the Council’s home
improvement programme, carried out each year by its Home
Improvement Team.
The work - in East Witton, Middleham,
Gunnerside, Eppleby, Hunton, Barton, Richmond, Patrick Brompton,
East Layton, Newton le Willows and Croft on Tees - was carried out
by Connaught Partnership Ltd and David Cussons Windows.
“This work is part of the Council’s on-going
commitment to improve living conditions for our tenants - window
renewal is a crucial part of this,” said Councillor Peter Wood,
Richmondshire District Council Housing spokesperson.
“It’s really good to see our programme
converted into practical improvements which have a positive impact
on people’s lives.”
New heating, kitchens, bathrooms, roofs and
chimneys have also been replaced in other council properties.
