A former nunnery in Swaledale is
urging local art groups to sign up for Friday afternoon sketching
sessions.
From Marrick Priory near Reeth - a 12th
century Benedictine nunnery – the views that inspired JMW Turner in
1816 can be replicated.
By booking a Friday afternoon session,
which includes lunch, refreshments and cream teas, groups can help
the priory’s bursary fund which allows young people from
disadvantaged families to enjoy the Marrick Priory Outdoor
Experience.
The priory is also looking for artists wanting to run a workshop
during the two weeks from August 15
- Marrick Priory is a registered charity

for a wide variety of guests including schools, youth groups, adult
