A major audit of broadband speeds
across Richmondshire is underway.
Throughout December residents and business
owners are being asked to check the speed they receive and report
it back to councillors.
The results will be used as part of a review
being conducted by members of the District Councils Overview and
Scrutiny Committee.
Concerns about the inconsistency of broadband speeds around the
district has led to the district wide review. Members are
looking into the options available to develop a better service
across the district.
“Access to high speed broadband is crucial to help improve the
quality of life of people living and working in rural
communities,” said Councillor Paul Cullen, Scrutiny Committee
Chairman.
“It brings both economic and social benefits. I hope our
residents will take part in the survey to help us identify the
areas where broadband speed is slow and where a community led
solution could be found.”
