Council homes across Richmondshire
have had a pre-Christmas facelift.

In the last three months more than 40
properties at Brompton-on-Swale (pictured) and Richmond have had
either new kitchens or bathrooms fitted or rewiring work
undertaken. Another 30 properties are now awaiting work.
Richmondshire District Council began a new
four-year contract on with Peterlee based, Kier Services, in
September. The contract worth £6.3m will provide
planned refurbishment works to Council owned homes across the
district.
“This work is part of the Council’s on-going
commitment to improve living conditions for our tenants,” said
Councillor Peter Wood, Richmondshire District Council Housing
spokesperson.
Next year new windows will be fitted to
properties in Scorton, Finghall, Moulton, Hawes, Spennythorne,
Catterick, Hipswell and re-roofing work will be carried out at
Ravensworth bungalows.
