Housing is on the menu in the run up
to Christmas as two roadshows are staged in Northallerton and
Richmond.
Local people will not only be able to gather
information at the day long events – but talk to housing officers
to raise issues on Hambleton and Richmondshire matters.
The events – on December 2 in Richmond and
five days later in Northallerton – are being staged by charity,
Independus with the backing of Hambleton and Richmondshire District
Councils, Vale and Dale Home Improvement Agency, Broadacres Housing
Association and the Yorkshire Energy Partnership.
Independus promotes the welfare of disabled
people in the two districts – it is managed by disabled people and
aims to enable disabled people to live independently through the
provision of facilities, services and support.
“We received funding from the Big Lottery’s
Awards for All pot to help us stage these roadshows and we hope as
many people as possible will take the opportunity to come along,
join us for a coffee and get the information they need on housing,”
said Richmondshire District Councillor, Linda Curran, a member of
the Independus board.
Both venues for the roadshows – Richmond
Station and Hambleton Forum – are fully accessible and have blue
badge parking available. The events are from 10am
until 3pm on:
December 2 - Richmond Station
December 7 – Hambleton Forum,
Northallerton
