Parish councils and residents are being urged to have their say as two new reviews into local services begin.
Members of Richmondshire District Council’s two Overview and Scrutiny Committees will spend the next few months looking at broadband and physiotherapy services across the district.
And they want local residents and parishes to take part by sending in their views. Letters are being sent to all Parish Councils asking that the issues are placed on their agendas and suggesting that a member of the overview and scrutiny committee could attend their meetings.
Scrutiny is a member driven process that sees councillors looking into any matters that affect the well being of the residents of the district. The areas of broadband and physiotherapy are outside the district council’s own remit so are classed as external reviews, involving external organisations. Scrutiny Committees also look at the council’s own services and policies to check that they meet the needs of local people. They are also consulted during the development of new council policies and strategies.
For more information or to take part contact Penny Hillary, Scrutiny Officer at Richmondshire District Council on 01748 827093.
