left to apply for licences to hold Christmas and New Years Eve
parties. date to submit an application for a ‘temporary event
notice’ - or TEN – for Christmas Eve is December 9. It is
five days later – December 14 – for New Years Eve.
Anyone wanting to hold events that involve the
sale of alcohol, the provision of regulated entertainment such as
live music or dancing, or the sale of late-night refreshments -
will need a TEN from the council.
This must be received by the
council at least ten working days before the event to comply
with the law. Failure to obtain a notice could mean that the
event may have to be cancelled.
