Richmondshire residents can now
recycle more waste paper.
Non-window envelopes can now be taken to all
of the District Council’s recycling sites and also placed in the
blue bag for kerbside recycling.
“The gum used on the envelopes used to be a
problem at the paper mills,” said Head of Waste Services for
Hambleton and Richmondshire District Councils, Eric Kendall “But
this has now been
rectified allowing non-window envelopes to be recycled which is
good news for our residents”.
Blue bags will take: newspapers and magazines,
paper and brochures, leaflets and junk mail, office paper,
catalogues, shredded paper, wrapping paper, yellow pages and non-
window envelopes.
It cannot be used for cardboard, telephone
books, birthday cards, plastic wrappers, paper based drink cartons
or window envelopes.
