A new group promoting cycling for fun
is being launched in Richmond next month.
‘Cycle 4 Fun’ will encourage riders of all
ages and abilities to join short weekly rides.
Outings will initially be volunteer-led, but
it is hoped that as groups become more experienced they will become
independently operated.
The group will be launched on April 9 at a
special day of free activities at Richmond
Station. Children and adults will be able to try
out canoeing, archery, boot camps, led walks with the Walk for
Health group, cycle rides, and activities for children with the
Play Rangers and buggy fit sessions from 10am until 3pm.
It has been set up as a result of the cycle
referral scheme which offered short sessions as part of a fitness
of recuperation programme. People on that scheme wanted
to join forces for short social rides.
It is hoped that a similar club will be set up
in the Hambleton district over the coming months.
