The countdown to the opening of a new
joint contact centre for Hambleton and Richmondshire District
Councils has begun.
The new centre will mean staff at any of the
authorities sites will be able to answer and deal with calls from
either council – making the service more streamlined and
efficient.
Staff are undergoing intensive training before
the centre goes live on December 14.
Until December 13, training means the area
offices are closed for almost two hours every week.
The offices in Easingwold, Stokesley, Reeth
and Leyburn are shut every Tuesday from 8.45 - 11am.
Richmond is closed from 8.45 – 10.30am and Northallerton although
open has a reduced service. The centres in Hawes and
Colburn are unaffected.
The telephone service during this time is also
limited – although all urgent calls will be dealt with.
Once the contact centre is open the opening
hours will be standardised across the two authorities – to 8.45am
until 5.15pm Monday to Thursday and 8.45am until 4.45pm on
Fridays.
