CLOSER LINKS FORGED WITH LANDLORDS
Closer links between
landlords and the district councils of Richmondshire and Hambleton
are being forged.
A special ‘fair’ takes place
later this month – the first of its kind in the two districts.
It is the first step towards
establishing closer links with private sector landlords in both
areas - and an opportunity for officers from the authority’s
housing, benefits and environmental health sections to offer advice
and support to landlords.
The Landlords Fair on March
22 which has been organised by the councils in conjunction with the
National Landlords Association (NLA) will also feature a series of
workshops:
- Local Housing Allowance and overview of Housing Benefits
- Landlord Development with the NLA
- Safety Checks for Tenanted Properties
- Landlord Tax Issues
- Envirovent – controlling dampness and mould growth in rented
properties
Organisations and local
companies will have stalls at the fair – including the Fire
Service, Landlords Insurance Providers, Energy Saving Trust,
Netrent, Envirovent, Health and Safety Executive and Cost-Co.
The fair takes place at the Hambleton Forum in Northallerton
from 2.30 - 4.30pm and from 5.30 - 7.30pm. It is free to
all local landlords. Free refreshments will be
provided.
