Colburn was treated to an early spring
clean last week - despite the winter weather!

Hambleton and Richmondshire District Council’s
Street Scene Team joined forces with Animal Wardens and North
Yorkshire Police to clean up the streets and gardens of
Colburn.
With dog fouling an increasing problem,
officers patrolled the area from 5.30am. Not only was one
person caught allowing their dog to foul the streets, but anti-dog
fouling signs were erected on lamp posts.
Graffiti was also removed from two areas and
gardens cleared.
“Unfortunately due to the weather conditions
not all the planned activities were carried out,” said Street Scene
Manager, John Proud.
“The children from Colburn Community Primary
School had planned litter pick in the play park but with snow on
the ground that was cancelled. We hope that this action
day will spur people into looking after their area.”
