A comprehensive review of car parking
provision across Richmondshire has been requested by
members.
Earlier this week Councillors agreed that
proposals to introduce charges in some car parks for the first time
- including Richmond Station and the Broadway in Colburn - should
be deferred until a review has been carried out. They
asked officers to look at all car parking areas that are the
responsibility of Richmondshire District Council.
It is hoped that as a result of the review a
measured and balanced car parking scheme that reflects the needs
and demographics of the communities and businesses that each car
park serves will be created.
The results of the review will be brought back
to a Strategy Board meeting before the end of September.
