Richmondshire’s annual canvass is
underway - to ensure all residents have the right to
vote.
Canvass forms have been sent to all 22,000
households – they contain details of everyone currently included on
the electoral register for each address.
Residents are simply asked to add anyone missing and delete anyone
no longer living there.
And following the success of the last two
canvasses, email, text and telephone replies are again being taken
– 3000 households used electronic means in 2009 and 4700 last
year.
Canvass forms must be returned to
Richmondshire by 30 September 2011 to avoid a reminder or personal
visit to the home.
Anyone needing help completing the form – or
who doesn’t receive a canvass form by September 14 - should contact
the helpline on 01748 827096 or electoral@richmondshire.gov.uk.
