Yorke Square consultation cards running out!

COMMENT cards asking Richmondshire residents for their views on the future of the Yorke Square car park have proved so popular, they have almost run out.

More than 1,000 yellow and blue cards were printed two weeks ago. Since then they have been distributed by Richmondshire District Council from its Community Offices and enclosed in outgoing mail, as well as to local residents by the Save Our Shire group.

The cards are to advertise a forthcoming public event at The Station on June 10, and can be filled in and returned to a Freepost address as part of the ongoing consultation process.

But with the event still a week away and less than 100 cards left, Council officers have had to order a second print run.

A spokesman for the Council said: "We knew people would want to have their say about the future of Yorke Square – after all, it is without a doubt Richmondshire's most talked-about car park.

"But it looks like 1,000 cards just isn't going to be enough, and so we've had to order even more to make sure we don't run out.

"We would also like to urge anyone who has picked up or been sent a card to return it. The consultation runs until June 25, so it's essential we receive them back by then."

The main consultation event will take place at The Station in Richmond, from 1pm to 8pm on June 10. You can also submit comments online via the Council's website, at richmondshire.gov.uk/yorkesquare, or by phoning 01748 829100 and asking for the Communications Team.
