SOLICITORS working for Richmondshire District Council have received a copy of the Consent Order quashing planning permission for the Yorke Square car park in Richmond.

The order, which has now been signed by a High Court Judge, formally quashes the planning permission granted by the Council on April 20, 2006, for apartments to be built on part of the car park.

As previously agreed, the Council is now making arrangements to pay the legal costs of the Save Our Shire group by March 17. These costs will be £17,186, inclusive of VAT.
