A celebration was held to mark the success of fundraising
efforts to provide play equipment for young people in the Upper
Dales.
Yorebridge Sport and Fitness in Askrigg unveiled the new soft
play equipment at their second annual Open Day.
The equipment, along with a bouncy castle, trampoline and giant
games, was funded by an award from the Big Lottery Fund – part of a
successful bid made by Richmondshire District Council to develop
play provision across the district for people of all ages and
abilities.
Yorebridge Sport and Fitness now hope to be able to use the
equipment as a valuable community resource, so that all local
groups catering for children can have access to it.
Councillor Yvonne Peacock, who
represents Addlebrough ward on Richmondshire District Council and
is Chairman of Yorebridge Sports and Fitness, said: "This play
equipment will make a huge difference to children in the Upper
Dales, because they can come and have fun and exercise with this
first-class community resource. We're very grateful to the Big
Lottery Fund for making this possible."

Pictured enjoying the soft play equipment are local parents and
their children along with the Chairman of Yorebridge Sport and
Fitness, Coun Yvonne Peacock.
