Love Leyburn? Then we need your help!

Volunteers who love their local area – and who have some spare time to donate – are wanted at the Tourist Information Centre (TIC) in Leyburn.

Richmondshire District Council, which runs the busy centre, is appealing for volunteers to help out as the busy summer season approaches. Leyburn TIC is visited by tens of thousands of tourists every year.

Centre Manager Joy Healy said: "Our volunteers come from all walks of life, but they have one thing in common – they are passionate about Leyburn. Whether you know the area like the back of your hand, or you simply enjoy meeting new people, we'd love to hear from you!"

Volunteers give advice about local events and attractions, and help out with accommodation enquiries and bookings. Help is particularly required at weekends, although there a few spare morning and afternoon shifts that also need filling.

Edit: Leyburn TIC closed on 9th April 2011, for more information about the town please contact 01969 622317 or email info@daleshaven.co.uk
