FIVE THOUSAND flower bulbs will be planted around Colburn – to a launch a new way of working for Richmondshire Local Strategic Partnership (LSP).

Colburn residents are being urged to come and join in the bulb planting event, which will take place on December 6.

Richmondshire LSP brings together the district's public, private, voluntary and community sectors to improve the quality of life for everyone who lives and works there. The Colburn bulb planting is part of a wider scheme for the LSP to get better at partnership working, and get communities more involved in neighbourhood working.

To take part, simply meet at Colburn Library or The Chase at 10am. Tea, coffee and mince pies will be available from 11.30am at the Sure Start centre for those who have taken part or simply want to hear more about the project.

On the same day, Colburn Town Council will be switching on the Christmas lights, with carols round the tree at 5pm.
