After almost 40 years of
making sure Richmondshire is clean and tidy, long serving District
Council employee, Harry Chilton, has retired.

Colleagues past and present gathered to watch him make one more
clean sweep, using a tractor. Harry, who has worked for the
authority in a variety of roles over the last 37 years, including
grave digger, mobile toilet cleaner, grounds maintenance and plant
driver, continued to improve the environment with a tidy of
Richmond's Round Howe car park as part of his retirement send
off.
A formal presentation, and official thank you for his years of
service, from the Chairman of the Council, and childhood friend,
Cllr Raymond Alderson, followed at the Council's Depot in Richmond.
